Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping, thawed
1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
Additional whipped topping and fresh cherries for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Crust:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Mix well.
Pour the melted butter over the crumb mixture and stir until all the crumbs are moistened.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish, creating an even layer. Set aside.
Make the Cream Cheese Layer:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until well combined.
Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the prepared crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Add the Cherry Topping:
Carefully spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it out to cover the entire surface.
If desired, reserve a few cherries for garnish.
