1. In a bowl, beat the eggs with milk, salt and pepper.
2. Dip the slices of bread in the egg and milk mixture, soaking well.
3. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat and brown the slices of bread on both sides until golden brown.
4. Spread a tablespoon of pesto on each slice of golden bread.
5. Slice tomatoes and mozzarella.
6. Arrange the tomato slices and mozzarella on the slices of French toast.
7. Broil for 5 minutes, until mozzarella is melted and lightly browned.
8. Top with fresh basil leaves before serving.
