Peel and thinly slice potatoes.
In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add the potato slices. Cook for about 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent. Season with salt and black pepper.
In a bowl, beat an egg and mix into the cooked ground beef mixture.
Butter a baking dish and place the half-cooked potatoes on the bottom.
Spread the ground beef mixture evenly over the potatoes.
Sprinkle grated cheese over the ground beef mixture.
In another bowl, beat the remaining four eggs with salt.
Pour the beaten eggs over the cheese layer.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the eggs are set.
Once cooked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
